On April 12, 2015, Tanghu Library in Zhuankou Township, which has been praised as the most beautiful library in Wuhan by netizens, went into operation formally and lively.

　　The Tanghu Library is located inside the Employee Activity Center of Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone. It is located on the Lakeside Peninsula at the south of Tanghu Park and the east of Xinghua Road. This Library, covering a building area of 4375 m², is established by the Management Committee of Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone and operated by Wuhan Library. This Library provides the open-shelves self-borrowing service, and it is divided into multiple functional areas including the open-shelves book borrowing & reading area, newspapers & periodicals reading area, foreign language reading area, children’s borrowing & reading area, public electronic reading room, innovation space, readers’ salon, 24-hour self-borrowing area and the conference hall.

　　At present, collections of Tanghu Library include 50000 books and 300 kinds of periodicals and newspapers. This Library provides self-services of applying for library cards, borrowing books and returning books. It also provides the free interlibrary loan service jointly with other 13 libraries in Wuhan. In addition, children aged 3-6 years old are provided with specialized activity areas where they can play with toys and Lego building blocks. Creative activities are also organized regularly. The Tanghu Library has gradually become an important knowledge and information center, lifelong learning place and the cultural recreation space in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone.
