Youth and Children’s Palace of Wuhan was founded in 1956. The floor are of this Palace is 220000 m² and the building area totals to about 50000 m². It is located in the downtown area of the city center and the transportation is very convenient.

　　The appearance of Youth and Children’s Palace of Wuhan has changed greatly after over 50 years’ explorations and practices made by elder generations under the correct guidance from the municipal committee of communist youth league and the attention and care from all previous municipal Party committees and municipal governments. What’s more, in order to implement the Official Document No. 8 promulgated by the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council seriously and practically, the municipal Party committee and municipal government has paid high attention to constructions of out-of-school activity spaces for teenagers. To this end, 13000000 Yuan was invested to build the art complex building even when financial resources were limited. The modern and multi-functional art complex building has greatly improved the educational environment of Youth and Children’s Palace of Wuhan.

　　Youth and Children’s Palace of Wuhan consists of the frontal area and back area. The art complex building is the main building of this Palace in front area. The construction of this art complex building was started on June 1, 2003 and completed on December 20, 2004. The art complex building covers an area of 32000 m², and the building area is 30264 m² (including the basement). This building has seven floors and consists of 722 music halls, 156 classrooms (including 92 classrooms for art training, physical training and cultural training) and many comprehensive facilities such as the gymnasium, gym, table tennis gym, rehearsal room and audio-visual room. This building is also equipped with the underground parking garage of which the parking space is big enough for 137 vehicles. It also has a surface parking lot of which the parking space is huge enough for 40 vehicles. 120000 trainees can be trained annually in this building. In addition, 25 piano rooms, 3 instrumental rooms and 3 vocal music rooms in this building are all equipped with silencing equipment. The skylight has been installed for the sketch classroom to ensure the natural lighting. Teenagers and citizens can not only enjoy concerts and sports competitions, but also participate into literary, artistic, physical, scientific and technological trainings and activities in this building. Equipped with the wire communication network, local area network, over 800 resting chairs for parents and other facilities, this building is capable of providing more comprehensive trainings and activities organized for a wide range of teenagers and citizens.
