The third Dutch Days Wuhan kicked off in the James Jackson Museum at Tanhualin on the same day. These two exhibitions which will last until December 10, along with other top-notch works by Dutch artists, are part of the Dutch Days Wuhan event. In close cooperation with the 4th Wuhan Design Biennale, this year’s Dutch Days presents a diverse story about urban design, water management, and future public spaces by means of exhibitions, presentations, art installations, and other public activities. It is organized by the Netherlands Business Support Office (NBSO) Wuhan and the Wuhan City of Design Promotion Center.

Judith van de Bovenkamp, Chief Representative at the NBSO Wuhan, said that what is so special about this year’s Dutch Days is they are in collaboration with the Wuhan Design Biennale. “Wuhan has just become a UNESCO City of Design. Its design industry is growing fast. This is a perfect opportunity for Wuhan and the Netherlands to promote cooperation in design,” she said. Michiel Scheffer, Vice-Governor of Gelderland of the Netherlands, took part in the opening ceremony. He will visit Hubei during Dutch Days Wuhan with a trade delegation consisting of 17 companies. “Wuhan and Gelderland share a major similarity; they are both rich in water resources. I think we have a lot to offer and to learn from each other in terms of water management,” he said. Source: ChangjiangWeekly |
