Wuhan participates in the second UNESCO Creative City Summit

The second UNESCO Creative City Summit organized by UNESCO, The Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, Commission of The People's Republic of China for UNESCO, and the People's Government of Beijing Municipality was held in Beijing on June 6, 2016. Liu Yandong, deputy prime minister of the State Council, Irina Bokova, the UNESCO director general, Yuan Guiren, minister of Education, Beijing mayor Wang Anshun attended the opening ceremony.
 
"Creativity and sustainable development" is the theme of this summit which will be held for 3 days, including opening ceremony, general meeting, three parallel forums and mayor round-table conference as well as relevant presentations. The summit was attended by mayors, city policy planners and representatives from over 40 member cities of UCCN, experts, scholars and entrepreneurs from their own culture and sectors. Beijing Agenda is the most important accomplished document in this summit.
 
In support of the Ministry of education and the Plenary Meeting of Chinese Party Committees at All Levels, Beijing Municipal Science &Technology Committee, on behalf of the sponsor, invites Wuhan Municipal Government to attend to this summit. The invited group consisting of Li Wang, deputy mayor of Wuhan Municipal Government and deputy chief of Shendu group (Wuhan applies for “Design Capital” issued by UNESCO), Lin Wenshu, director of the Wuhan Urban and Rural Construction Committeeand director of executive office of the Shendu group, Jin Zhihong, Chairman of board of Wuhan Design Capital Promoting Center, attended this summit.
