  Hubei Provincial Museum

  Wuhan Municipal Bureau of Culture released statisitics recently, saying Wuhan, capital city of central China, has boasted 108 museums by the end of 2016.

  Among which, 28 museums are owned by the cultural-relic department and the rest 80 are run by the private. A museum system integrated the state-owned museums, professional museums, private museums, comprehensive and themed museums has begun to take shape.

  In 2014, all the museums in Wuhan totally received 8,256,200 visitors, which increased to 10,309,400 in 2015, exceeding the 10-million mark for the first time. In 2016, the total visits broke the 10-million mark again. (hubei.gov.cn by Ruan Xinqi)

  

 

  Wuhan Museum

  Located on 373 Qingnian Rd , Hankou, Wuhan Museum is 300 miles west of Hankou railway station. It formally opened to the outside world on October 1st, 2001. It has a gross floors area of 17 834m2 , with 600m2 exhibition area (of which 1000m2 is the exchanging exhibition hall). With its solemn and magnificient building, which combines the elegant oriental culture with modernized functions, the Museum affords a splendid view.

  Wuhan is a renowned historical and cultural city in China . Through the ages our diligent and resourceful forefathers left us substantial material civilization and splendid spiritual treasury. For the purpose of exhibiting the cultural history of Wuhan in an exact, realistic and direct way, and enabling visitors to get to know the local historical development of Wuhan so as to drink in its stately and luxurious cultural atmosphere, the Museum puts on a large serial exhibition of the local history the exhibition on 3 special subjects of DAHW (Display of the Ancient History of Wuhan), AMW (Approaching Modern Wuhan), and Displays of CRTPD (Cultural Relics Trophies of the Past Dynasties), ACA(Ancient Ceramic Art), and PCAMQD(Painting and Calligraphic Arts of the Ming and the Qing Dynasties 1368-1911). Through the exhibition the Museum manifests to its visitors the distant, dignified, varied and colourful ancient Chinese civilization, and elegant and magnificient Jianghan regional culture, which is a blending of the culture of all sides.
