Wuhan Planning Exhibition Hall, located at the east wing of Wuhan Citizens Home, is an important platform of displaying the development history, achievements and future roadmap of Wuhan City comprehensively. Constructions and exhibition arrangements have followed high standards to turn Wuhan Planning Exhibition Hall into a domestically leading and world-class facility as per construction objectives stipulated by the municipal party committee and municipal government. This facility integrates multiple functions of the city parlor, office hall and exhibition hall. This Hall consists of 5 floors (and 2 additional interlayers) and 18 exhibition regions. The building area of this Hall totals to 22430 m², the area of exhibition regions is about 17000 m².

　　The City Impression Exhibition Area is located on the first floor, including the entrance hall, cultural and art gallery and the back hall. Artistic expressions are utilized to display the regional advantage, cultural glamour and local characteristics of Wuhan to various guests. The space on the second floor is divided into various exhibition areas such as the Wuhan History, Wuhan Lifestyle, key functional areas and Smart Wuhan. Those area are designed to tell about stories of the history, present and future of Wuhan. The citizen orientation and participation are emphasized. The space between the second floor and the third floor is used to display the good transportation system and strong power of Wuhan City to show the comprehensive strength. The space of the third floor is centered on the Overall Planning Model Exhibition Hall, providing the climax of exhibitions. Major exhibitions provided here include exhibitions related to the strategic objective of developing the national center city, two national strategies of constructing resource-economical and environment-friendly society, and the East Lake National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone. The space of the fourth floor is the City Happiness Experience Area. Immersive and interactive games are utilized to enable visitors to appreciate the planning, construction and development progress of key urban projects and infrastructures. The fifth floor is used as the open and public planning committee room, which is an important place for citizens to participate into planning decisions.

　　Wuhan Planning Exhibition Hall has made many innovations in terms of exhibition designs, scientific and technological integrations, artistic connotations and cultural characteristics. There are about 90 exhibition items of various films and multimedia materials, over 20 artworks, over 30 models and 10 movie halls of various sizes. The Two-river and Four-shore Miniature Model is one of the most elaborate realistic models which are especially developed for the national planning exhibition hall. This model has enabled visitors to appreciate the magnificent planning and construction of the Two-river and Four-shore Project of Wuhan City. The Overall Planning Model Exhibition Hall has made full use of the huge space of the atrium lobby and the encircling audio-visual environment to play demos to show the overall urban planning of national center cities, which creates unique impressions of view.

　　Since its establishment in January 2012, Wuhan Planning Exhibition Hall has received many Party and State leaders such as Xi Jinping (State President and General Secretary of the Communist Party of China), Meng Jianzhu (Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, and Secretary of the Political and Judiciary Commission) and Zhang Ping (Vice-Chairman of Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress). In addition, many Chinese and foreign gusts also visited this Hall, including Philip ( King of Belgium), Mathilde (Queen of Belgium), Jean-Marc Ayrault (former Prime Minister of France), Kevin Michael Rudd (former Prime Minister of Australia), Maha Chakri Sirindhorn (Princess of Thailand), Valentina Ivanovna Matviyenko (Chairman of Russian Federation Council), Prince of Kuwait and Cui Shi’an (Chief Executive of Macau Special Administrative Region).

　　At present, Wuhan Planning Exhibition Hall has been approved by the state as a AAAA-rated Tourist Attraction. It has also been awarded by the Organizational Department of the CPC Wuhan Municipal Committee, Wuhan Municipal Party School and Propaganda Department of the Wuhan Municipal Committee as the “On-the-spot Teaching Base for Cadre Education and Training of Wuhan”, “Patriotic Education Base”, and “Science Popularization Education Base”. It has also been honored as the “Youth Civilization Unit”. Wuhan Planning Exhibition Hall has become an important platform for the public to understand and participate into the urban planning, a beautiful card revealing the city enchantment, and a preferred image promotion channel for Wuhan.
