Wuhan International Music Festival

  From October 25 to 31, 2014, in the 2014 Wuhan International Music Festival, a series of activities were held, including lectures themed with China Meets Europe, master classes, concerts, and workshops.

  According to the schedule of the festival, first, musicians and scholars from France, Britain and Luxembourg visited Wuhan Conservatory of Music and got involved in the activities. They brought distinct European musical concepts and forms. Second, in this festival, teachers and students from Wuhan Conservatory of Music held dense dialogues with foreign experts. French harp, flute, and piano experts and performers from Luxembourg Sinfonietta held master classes for students majoring in orchestra, piano, and composition. French electronic music experts and composers and the art director of Luxembourg Sinfonietta held lectures and workshops. Such a tight schedule containing master classes, lectures and workshops is rare in the academic exchange history of Wuhan Conservatory of Music. Third, two concerts themed with China Meets Europe were held in the Chimes Concert Hall on October 30 and 31. Based on successful holding of Wuhan New International Music Festival in 2007 and 2008, Wuhan held 2014 Wuhan International Music Festival using the resource advantage of the settlement of Musical Creation · Hubei Collaborative Innovation Center in Wuhan Conservatory of Music and following the trend of connotative development. This festival is a grand music event, and the theme is China Meets Europe.
