"Moving forward with Dreams in Mind, the Future is Coming--China (Wuhan) Ruopu Creative Design Works Exhibition of Adolescents and Children in USA" starts!

  Activity background

  In November 2015, Ruopu Space successfully hosted "2015 Wuhan Tonghuawuji Children Art Exhibition" in cooperation with Wuhan Qingshan District Youth League Committee, Wuhan Qingshan District Education Bureau and Wuhan Evening News and in support of Wuhan Qingshan District Government.

  This art exhibition aims to discover the most creative little artists and check the power for future development of Wuhan Art circle. During the exhibition period, Ruopu Space invited famous artists to the site, held a series of academic forum and art appreciation lessons and invited the most outstanding little artists to "sketch" the charming Qingshan District, intriguing the tide of drawing Qingshan District among children of the whole city. The exhibition was not only recognized by the peers but also attracted overseas art education for children.

  Ruopu Space was invited to exchange in USA in February 2016 and warmly welcomed by the peers and children of USA. They highly recognized and admired the highly personalized artistic expression, love to the hometown—Wuhan and the dreams of little artists from Wuhan. After consultation, we were invited to held "Moving forward with Dreams in Mind, the Future is Coming--China (Wuhan) Ruopu Creative Design Works Exhibition of Adolescents and Children in USA" in Florida, USA in May 2016 (Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month)

  Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month is a traditional festival of USA. It is in May of each year. During Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month, different kinds of celebration activities will be held in many places to reflect the diversity of culture, appreciate the contributions of Asian and Pacific Heritages and promote the mutual understanding among different ethnics. It also provides opportunities for Asian and Pacific descendants to demonstrate their cultural traditions and have cultural exchange.

  The organizers of "China (Wuhan) Ruopu Creative Design Works Exhibition of Adolescents and Children in USA" were APAPA-CFL, Florida Education Association (FEA), JDX Education Consulting LLC. (a famous education service institution in USA) and Ruopu Space Contemporary Children Art Center. The art exhibition focused on the theme of "moving forward with dreams in mind and the future is coming" and creatively expressed the more energetic urban space, green and low-carbon ecological environment, technological advance, livable cities and cultural development and offered a window for people to know much more about Wuhan via the exchange of folk culture and art exchange of adolescents and children from Wuhan.

  Way to participate in the exhibition

  1. Design theme: My design helped you

  (The word "you" can be a specific person, or the city or any other thing in the world.)

  2. Design category: Public environment, public buildings, public facilities, vehicles, creative products and etc.

  (for example: mural related to basic necessities of life, sculptures, urban landscape, amusement facilities, buildings and bridges, facilities for children, the disabled and little animals in public spaces, clothing, food, interior decoration, books and posts and all kinds of necessities and so on)

  Steps to participate in the exhibition

  The unprecedented interactive contribution solicitation will be adopted in this exhibition. Namely, focus on the theme that "my design helped you" and take induced questioning and discussion method in three links to guide the adolescents and children to answer the question, take part in the discussion, think about the true intention of their creative design and image and then observe, understand and learn the design art in life. This is because that art is not the purpose in education in some sense but a method, a method that make people more emotional and creative.

  In other words: This creative design exhibition is not just an exhibition but a process of thinking about life, observing the society, art education and guidance. We hope to provide an opportunity through this exhibition to guide the adolescents and children to pay attention to links between "I" and "You", "the Future", "the World" and "the Life" and thus establish a friendly and harmonious new order.

  1. Submission phase

  Adolescents and children with or without basic skills of fine arts are eligible to sign up for the exhibition.

  Fill out the "Design Ideas" form first. Then the students with skills of fine arts can draw the works that they design and those who do not have skills of fine arts can just fill out the form and describe their design ideas.

  To fill out the "design ideas" form, some related questions must be answered, for instance:

  ① Who do you want to design for?

  (it can be someone, or everybody, animals, plants, or the city we live in and everything in the world)

  ② What do you think he/she/it/they need(s)?

  ③ How can your design help him/her/it (them)?

  ④ What makes your design different from others in light of use function and action?

  ⑤ Does your design look better than anything else?

  Can you create something that currently does not exist?

  2. Creation phase

  The little artists who have art design and creation ability are required to independently complete the design work. Those who do not have are design and creation ability can complete the design work with assistance of the designated participants with design and creation ability. This exhibition is a public benefit activity and no fees for participation will be charged.

  Requirements on work

  ①Tabloid drawing paper and no limitations on types of colors and other tools.

  Black-and-white drawing, line drawing and other sketch method can be used.

  ②"Design description" must be clearly stated at the bottom right corner of the finalized work. The description must indicate the purpose of design, the name, function and features of the designed thing.

  ③ Name, gender, age, grade and school of the participants as well as the contact information of their guardians must be stated on the bottom right corner of the back of the design work.

  3. Creation phase

  The organizers organized the expert group to evaluate and select outstanding works from them and display them in the art exhibition.

  4. Exhibition phase

  All the works will be sent to special production units, decorated with separate frames, and printed into a propaganda album.

  These works will be exhibited in Orlando Municipal Hall, Florida, USA in later May 2016.

  A honorary certificate will be issued for the selected works and the painter will be signed artist of Ruopu Space. The selected works will be collected by Ruopu Space who will also issue the certificate of collection and prize to the painter. Ruopu Space will also offer tailored growth plan to the painter and promote his/her works globally.

  If the painters whose works are selected and their guardians want to take part in the art exhibition in USA, they can travel independently while Ruopu Space will assist with planning the itinerary and preparing the relevant documents.
