The 10th China (Wuhan) International Garden Expo was open to the public in Wuhan's Garden Expo Park starting on September 25th of 2015, unveiling the once-dumpsite-turned-into Garden Expo Park.

　　The root of a garden/park is found in soil. To pay tribute to the previous 9 garden expos, this garden expo had a special part at its start: the representatives of the citizens of the 10 cities hosting the garden expo would put the soil they got from their respective garden expo parks into the leave-shaped containers inlaid with the figure "10"; then the logo of the 10th garden expo unfolded.

　　China International Garden Expo is the largest, most recognized, and highest-level event in China's garden industry. Sponsored by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of China and Hubei Provincial Government, the 10th Garden Expo was hosted jointly by Wuhan Municipal Government, Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Hubei Province, Chinese Society of Landscape Architecture, and Chinese Association of Parks. This expo would run till May of 2016. After it, Wuhan Garden Expo Park will remain a city park where the citizens can rest, relax, and do physical exercises.

　　The most distinctive features of this expo is that the garden expo park is built on a previous dumpsite. Under the theme of "Ecological Garden Expo, Green Life", this expo follows the idea "turning waste land into usable land, integrating separate parts into one, turning suburbs into downtown areas, and integrating isolated parts into a system". Through this expo, the ecosystems of a 780mu dumpsite in Jinkou will be restored; two ecological tourist areas "Jingshan (lit. Jingshan Mountain)" and "Chushui (lit. Chu River)" will be developed; a total of 117 expo gardens such as City Exhibition Garden, Master Garden, Creativity Garden, and International Friend Garden will be built, so that the view of the gardens and the regional culture can be harmoniously integrated and visitors to the garden expo park can get a taste of the folklore of different places.
