Wuhan made great efforts to apply for joining in Creative Cities Network of the United Nations and officially applied for City of Design to UNESCO in 2017. To actively cooperate with Wuhan's application of City of Design, Wuhan City of Design Promotion Center organized delegation consisting of representatives of private design enterprises of Wuhan to visit Cities of Design and relevant agencies of Singapore and South Korea from March 8 to 14 respectively and participate in and learn from the annual "Singapore Design Week", the grant annual meeting activities in Asia Design Circle. The purpose is to publicize Wuhan's application for City and Design and earn more support, expand the influence of Wuhan design brand, promote overseas exchange and develop the overseas market.

　　National Design Center of Singapore is located in the historical blocks of Singapore and next to Saint Anthony Church. It was transformed from buildings of a church school and has low-key appearance but reasonable internal functions enabling exhibition of many things. Especially, Singapore Design History Exhibition Hall exhibits many historical design works, showing that Singapore respects the tradition and humanistic culture in terms of design. It is quite similar to James Jackson Museum in Wuhan.

Visiting Design Singapore Council
 

　　Singapore Design began to develop in the middle 1990s, has now become the best influential design card in Asia and was granted the honorary title of "City of Design" by UNESCO by end of 2015, becoming one of the 18 cities of design in the world. Now design has become an important link in future economic department of Singapore.

　　The delegation went to National Design Center of Singapore and visited Design Singapore Council in the morning of March 10. The Council is a government agency designed to promote Singapore Design. It was established in 2003 and is subordinate department of Department of Communication and Information Technology of Singapore. Its duties are to promote development of creative industry in Singapore and specific works related to City of Design. Both parties held talks about the benefits, meanings and specific practice of developing city of design. Four officials including the Deputy Executive Supervisor Em.ilong attended the meeting. The Singapore representatives expressed their views in an open and highly efficient manner. They introduced the Singapore Design by closely focusing on the people-oriented concept and public participation which is in line with the ideas of City of Design. The documents used for demonstration are elaborately produced, accurate in English expression and international.

　　Zheng Guoqing and Yang Fan, the leader and deputy leader of the delegation, briefly introduced Wuhan and Wuhan City of Design Promotion Center to let the Singapore representatives know more about achievements and development planning of Wuhan's application of City of Design, and introduced the roles of Wuhan design in economic development, the achievements in changing people's life by design and the concept of attracting the general public to take part in. The Singapore representatives were very interested in the delegation's introduction, praised the achievements made by Wuhan Municipal Government and designers in developing City of Design and explicitly expressed that they will support Wuhan's application of City of Design. During the meeting, the delegation also invited the Singapore representatives to participate in 2017 Wuhan Design Biennale and gave the collector's edition of Wuhan Design Biennale and the related publicity documents on Wuhan's application of City of Design to them as a present. Both parties expected to promote long-term profound cooperation between small and medium-sized design institutes of both parties by virtue of the platform of Wuhan City of Design Promotion Center.

Taking part in the 11th Singapore Design Week
 

　　The active and wonderful Singapore Design is also reflected in a series of diverse design activities. The annual Singapore Design Week is the grant meeting in Asia design circle. The founder, Design Singapore Council, believes in that design has become an integral part of solving the problems, balancing the interests, tapping the potential and creating values in the innovation-driven economic era and hopes to develop Singapore design industry via Singapore Design Week. So far, the Singapore Design Week has been successfully held for 11 sessions. The design week of this year will be held respectively in the National Design Center, Singapore EXPO, National Library Board Singapore and F1 Exhibition Hall and Singapore industrial design works and engineering design works and other various creative design works will be wonderfully exhibited in the Design Week, demonstrating Singapore's international position as a creative city. The delegation focuses on "50-year's Development History of Singapore Design", "Exhibition of Singapore Urban Planning", "Exhibition of Works Winning Red Dot Design Award" and "Green Ecological Design Parks" and so on during their visit.

　　Singapore, a fertile land of originality, attracts people of the world with its unique charm. The whole city itself is a museum of architectural design, having many master works and projects winning international design award. Since members of the delegation are leading designers in architecture and structure fields, to take full advantage of this opportunity, they had a full and tight schedule and inspected the hotels, residential buildings, high-tech parks, urban complexes, art design villages, green ecological parks and transformation of traditional civilian houses and low-rent houses of Singapore from their professional perspective.
