Wuhan Art Museum for People with Disabilities

  The opening ceremony of Wuhan Art Museum for People with Disabilities and the first Artistic Creation Base for Disabled People in China was held in Wuhan on October 21, 2015.

  Wuhan Art Museum for People with Disabilities, which cost about 4000000 Yuan, covers a floor area of 2000 m2 and a building area of 1300 m2. This Museum has been equipped with the painting and calligraphy workroom, oil painting workroom, photographic studio, handicraft workroom, Han embroidery workroom, ceramics studio, book bar and exhibition hall. This Museum will guarantee that basic cultural activities for disabled people will be carried out continuously and better cultural services will be provided to disabled people across the whole city. Wuhan Disabled Persons Federation and Wuhan Federation of Literary and Art Circles initiated the Wuhan Training Project for Disabled People with Various Talents in 2014, aiming to train 10 leading personnel out of disabled people with cultural and artistic talents, 100 cultural and artistic bases for disabled people and 1000 backbone personnel out of disabled people with cultural and artistic talents.

  90 artworks exhibited this time include both the works donated by the guiding experts and achievements in training of the disabled artists in more than one year and also the works jointly created by the teachers and students.
