Beipanjiang Bridge

Beipanjiang Bridge, the tallest bridge in the world, was officially opened to traffic at 8:58, 29th December, 2016, marking the completion of the Guizhou Segment of Hangrui Expressway. CCCC Second Harbor Engineering Company, a state-owned enterprise in Wuhan, undertook this world-class project. As the control project of Bijie to Duge segment of Hangrui Expressway, the 1341.4-meter long Beipanjiang Bridge links Xuanwei, Yunnan and Liupanshui, Guizhou. The travel time between these two cities was shortened from 4 hours to 1 hour. The difference in level between the bridge deck and the valley floor is 565 meters, almost the equivalent of a 200-storey building, making it the tallest bridge in the world. |
