　　Nature of CHAW: It was formed by cultural heritage inheritors, researchers, protectors, managers, auction operators and enthusiasts in Wuhan on free will basis and under leadership of Wuhan Federation of Literary and Art Circles (WFLAC) and is a municipal level professional non-profit social organization aiming to protect the cultural heritages of Wuhan (including tangible cultural heritage and intangible cultural heritage)

　　Purpose of CHAW: Taking Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory and the important thought of Three Represents as its guide to action; thoroughly applying the Scientific Outlook on Development; following the general requirements of protection with timely rescue, rational utilization, inheritance and development, and strict control; abiding by Constitutions, laws, regulations and policies of PRC, Law of the People's Republic of China on the Protection of Cultural Relics and Law of the People's Republic of China on Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage and rules and regulations of the State Council on cultural heritage protection; actively protecting, studying, utilizing,
carrying on and developing the cultural heritage; uniting the cultural inheritors, researchers, protectors, managers, auction operators and enthusiasts in Wuhan to implement education on cultural heritage protection, publicize the cultural heritage protection knowledge, improve the awareness of citizens of Wuhan about cultural heritage protection and serve for the development of cultural heritage protection cause of Wuhan.
