Originating from Chu embroidery in the warring States Period, Han embroidery has a history of over 2,000 years, and had been evenly balanced with Su and Xiang embroidery. In 2008, Ha embroidery was included in the state-level intangible cultural heritage. Adhering to the emotional colors of romance and enthusiasm, Han embroidery uses patterns with implied folk meanings and regional characteristics, and is featured by decent conception and well-rounded layout, achieving the artistic effect of Flourish First. Pingjinjiaxiu is the primary form, showing rich and gorgeous colors. For technique, various stitching methods are used, including spreading, pressing, weaving, locking, buckling, twisting, knotting and matting. In this way, the picture of Han embroidery is completed through solid embroidering with silk threads, which can be effectively applied in clothing and utilities.

In order to better carry out practical teaching of Han Embroidery, Master Ren Benrong and his apprentices are specially engaged as the teachers of technical skill courses. At present, Han Embroidery Workshop has been built in Wuhan Business University. The building area is 176 square meters, the equipment value is CNY 101,500, and there are 60 working stations.
