On May 24, 2016, Wuhan Cultural and Creative Industry Association held its second Congress in Wuhan Creative World, with the participation of over 200 units in the field of cultural industry. In the Congress, 36 members of the second Board of Directors were elected, and Huang Liping, the Chairman and President of Optics Valley Union Holding Company Limited was elected as the President of the Association, and Liu Shan as the Secretary General and Yao Hua as the Deputy Secretary General; and 21 Vice Presidents were elected as well.

　　The Wuhan Cultural and Creative Industry Association was formally established in 2009 and did a lot of start-up work at the beginning of its establishment as follows: 1. Set up regulations and systems; 2. Formed the basic working pattern, and meanwhile, determined the working strategy of "one body, two wings"; 3. Made early research on cultural and creative industry in Wuhan; 4. Interviewed and contacted many enterprises and parks in the cultural and creative industry and summarized and promoted some typical cases; 5. Understood the national policies on culture creativity and the development trend of cultural industry of other cities. As a result, the Association did good work and had growing influence under the leadership of the first president of the Association. According to relevant staff of the Association, the Association has successfully held many large-scale activities, including the Second Wuhan Cultural and Creative Industry Summit Forum and the First Wuhan Cultural and Creative Industry Grand Prix in recent years, expanding its influence. In addition, the Association has visited and investigated the parks and enterprises of some other associations, found and summed up a number of typical cases and absorbed their advanced experience, thus promoting the development of industrial industry in Wuhan.

　　With the official publication of Several Opinions of the State Council on Promoting the Integration and Development of Cultural Creativity and Design Services and Related Industries in March and orientation of developing cultural and creative industry in Wuhan, in future, Wuhan will be a prosperous place for the development of creative industry and Wuhan Cultural and Creative Industry Association will be a platform for creative entrepreneurs to give full play to their abilities and realize their ambitions. Now, there are 138 units attending the Wuhan Cultural and Creative Industry Congress, excluding member units of the Board of Directors.
