2017 Douyu Carnival

  On May 28th, 2017, Douyu Carnival attracted, on its first day, 80 thousand visitors to its 250 thousand m2 event site at Wuhan Hankou River Beach, with its online viewing peak exceeding eight million on its official live streaming page and a cumulative online viewership exceeding fifty million people.

  Douyu Carnival is a brand-new pan-entertainment cultural festival created by “Douyu Live Streaming”, China’s flagship enterprise in the live streaming sector. This year’s event was purposely held in Wuhan where the company’s headquarters locate so as to establish an urban business card featuring youth, openness, tolerance and passion. Trailblazing the initiative of “live streaming + theme park”, Douyu Carnival invited more than 500 celebrity broadcasters and E-sports players from home and abroad for offline events and close interaction with fans. Meanwhile, it designed numerous recreational activities covering various aspects such as recreation, E-sports, game, celebrity, entertainment, science and technology, gourmet cuisine and ACG.

  In only three short days, under visitor flow limit, onsite visitors reached 350 thousand person-times. During the three days, live streaming of relevant themes attracted a cumulative viewership of 170 million person-times. Relevant topics were read and discussed over 100 million person-times. Through this carnival, broadcasters came to know of the passionate Wuhan people and visitors were mesmerized by new ways of recreational entertainment. When asked about this three-day festival, many said “love to come again next year”.
